I did get some time in my sewing room this past week. Here is a peek of what I am working on in regards to getting the finishing pieces put together for last year's BOM. Only 11 more sets of these and some sashing and I should have the top completed!
I will get some more time in the sewing room this week, because it is supposed to be above normal warm for the Pacific Northwest. I will have to get out early in the mornings then this coming week because I have a bumper crop of blueberries ready for picking!

Here I go again!
Yep, here I go again, with the new block of the month from Fat Quarter shop! I have posted a few times about how I am a sucker for BOM's, but this year I have limited myself to only one. I just finished the last block of the Fat Quarter Shop's BOM from last year (they start this BOM every June), when they premiered the new one coming this June. Because they use a new line of Moda every year, and this year is "Avalon" by Joanna Figueroa of Fig Tree Quilts.
My first block arrived today, and in the first shipping, if you opted and paid, they send your finishing kit, backing, and one on the new candies (2.5" x 2.5" squares) which has each piece from the complete line of "Avalon".
But, boohoo, I am still up to my armpits in paperwork, so I will have to wait for a little while longer to get back into my sewing room and get started on this one. I also need to put all the blocks together of last years BOM. My to do list is growing again!!!!

Absence from the Sewing Room
Just a short post to say that I am miss being in my sewing room lately. The necessary evils of paperwork and gardening (a few pictures are posted below of what has been blooming so far this summer) have gotten in the way of making it into my favorite room of the house. My husband's little side business that I used to keep books on in a Excel spreadsheet has grown bigger than either of us could image. So, I am in the process of building an inventory database (with all the entries) and setting up a set of double entry bookkeeping entries into a new recently acquired accounting software.
Last week was the database building and entry, this week and probably some of next week will be the accounting work.
See you sometime next week....
PS.. Maybe sooner, if I can sneak in some evening time in the sewing room.

This is what is sitting in a vase on my table this week.
This is the progress of the garden so far this summer.

More of the Same
I still have fabric from the "Simple Nature" line by Wilmington, enough to make at least 4 more baby quilts. I cut out two and sewed the tops together yesterday. I think for any future baby quilts from this line, I will change up the pattern so I don't have a "WalMart" stock of baby quilts. I just want to be stocked up on baby quilts, because it seems as though I've needed one over the past few years and it was either not be able to give a baby quilt or do a mad rush to get one made.
Next will be sandwiching the batting and the backing then onto quilting the quilt.
I did finish this baby quilt by putting on the binding and hand sewing it down this evening.
