2016 Finished Quilts - On Pointe - Quilt 4

I posted about this quilt back in November.  You can read more about it here.  I was really please on how this one turned out.  For a medallion quilt, a sampler quilt, and a busy quilt with such an array of fabric prints.

But seeing it all together, and laid out, it is just impressive.  The colors flow from one block to the next, and it is a stunning selection of fabrics.  This is a really big quilt.  It has 14 12" sample quilt blocks, plus the 24" square center block.

This is a picture of the center, or the medallion portion.  There was an appliqué option, but I chose the pieced option.

The next four pictures show the four quadrants of the quilt, so you can get a close up of the blocks that were used in the quilt.  Each block is different from the next, giving it the sampler look.

This is a close up of the quilting and the borders.  The flower print at the outer border is a happy look.  I like that in this quilt.

I am alway a fan of stripes for backings and bindings, and this is no different.  This backing is in this line of fabrics, but was not used in the front of the quilt at all.  I am glad, because these complicated blocks would not look good using the stripe.  It then works perfect for the backing.

Next are the specific facts about the quilt:

Warmest...
