This was an "extra" project that one could do while doing a block of the month with a local quilt shop. This is called the Alphabet Quilt. Inside the cover of the book the following is what this pattern is all about, it reads as follows:
"This book presents the appliqué patterns for the ALPHABET QUILT, by Florence LaGrande, published in the newspapers in 1929 and 1930 under the title of Nancy Page Quilt Club.
These ALPHABET Quilt patterns and the antiques crib quilt top were furnished by Cacilie Daily, owner of MISCELLANY (antique quilts and quilted gifts), Houston, Texas."
Phyllis Adkins Baxter has re-printed and packaged these designs under the "pan designs" label in 1988.
This is my version of the quilt pattern. I chose 30's reproduction prints for the appliqué pictures, and a solid 30's yellow (Moda Bella Solid) for the sashing.
The next four pictures are of each quadrant, showing a close up of each block.
This is a close up of the cornerstones and sashing.
I found this wide backing, that was a tone on tone yellow perfect for this quilt.
