Third One Done

I completed my commissioned order by getting the third bag done yesterday.  I have sent off pictures and the customer is pleased and excited.  It is so nice to have good customers!  As soon as i sent the pictures and listed it in my Etsy shop, she immediately paid for the bags.  So, hubby and I found a box, taped it up, labeled it with the postage, and he graciously took it to the post office on his way back to work from lunching at the house.

I won't bore you with the details of this last bag, because the other posts about the bags should explain this one, I'll just share the pictures.

Second One Done

Here is the second of the three commissioned bag order I am working on.  I didn't think the Snoopy print was going to look very good made into this bag, but I am quite surprised on how cute it turned out!

I used yellow as a contrast color and for the zipper.  The main print has just a touch of this yellow, so I picked using it and I think it works just right.

This is the bag's lining, in the cute yellow contrast, and a pocket using the main Snoopy print.  I like to use light colors for linings, because it makes it easier to find things in the bag. 

The reversible bucket is made with a dark purple ( even though it looks like a dark blue), and the same yellow as the lining. 

One Done

This is the first of three purses that I have been working on for a commissioned order I mentioned a few posts ago.

And this is a quick peek at the reversible "bucket" piece.  It is a nice geometric print that has all the team colors!  I can't take the credit for finding the print, though, because my wonderful husband found it.  He always goes to the fabric stores with me and encourages me and my craft!  And in doing so, he's learning what I am looking for and can be a big help, especially when there are several bolts to be carried!

I know I am very lucky..... 

Another Commissioned Order

I have made several of these 3 in 1 bags, and I have some available on my Etsy site.  That is where I was contacted by a past customer to make three more of these bags in another team print.  So, I will busy in the sewing room getting this commissioned order out the door.  The fabric had to be ordered, as team fabrics found locally are those only for the area in which one lives.  I will be posting the finished products as I go have a nice picture of them.  Below are detailed pictures of the bag and how it works, because it does give you three different looks, thus the name 3 in 1 bag.  Click on the 3 in1 label below this post if you want to find out more information regarding this pattern.

More Bags

Sorry I have been out of touch. But, I received a custom order request for 3 new bags off of my Etsy shop.

Here is the "3 in 1 Bag" pattern that I have made using our state college team fabric, with some coordnating fabric.  I only made one of this bag for the order.

This in one of the three ways you can use the bag.

This is the bag opened, showing the lining fabric in another coordnating fabric.  It also shows that I put a pocket inside, and partition it off with a pencil/pen slot, and a cell phone slot, leaving the rest of the pocket area for other small things.

This picture just shows the bag without the jacket buttoned on the main body of the purse.  This would be the second way you could use the bag.

This is the bag with the jacket turned inside out, giving it the third option of using the bag.

Here of the next bag I made using another one of Oregon's college teams fabric as the main body of the bag.  I made two of these bags for the order.  The following pictures are the three different ways the bag can be used.
 

I am off to make some more bags, as I already have an order for another one of these bags done in the orange and black Oregon Beavers fabric. 

Another 3 in 1 Purse

I have been busy these last two days! I tend to bury myself in my sewing room, imersed in projects. It is my place of comfort, a place of peace, a place free of stress. I've had a couple of serious things occur to two very close people in my life. Both are named David, one is my father and the other is my oldest son. My dad has been diagnosed with melanoma lung cancer and is scheduled for surgery to remove it next Thursday. I just learned my son is being sent on his fourth deployment within the next few weeks, and he will be back doing combat instead of work inside the camp perimiter. I imagine I will be in my sewing room a lot over the next few months.

Anyway, I made another one of these bags to have ready to sell at my husband's next show in April. His show is in the college town, Eugene, Oregon, home of the Oregon Ducks. This will be the first time I will be selling something at a show. All of my past sales have been custom orders. I tried to take pictures of all the different fabrics I used to give you an idea of how many changes / ways this purse can be done.

Rose Bowl Champions

This is a commission project from Christmas 2011. I made three for a co-worker's daughters, Of which 2 of them go to Oregon State University, home of the Oregon Ducks. And, of course after winning the Rose Bowl this year, anything "Ducks" has become extremely popular. And since these bags have hit campus, I have gotten a few inquiries. So, one of my first projects to be accomplished in the new sewing room will be making "Ducks" related items. We also have their rival team "the Beavers" here in Oregon, so I will be working on projects related to their team as well.

About this bag..... The pattern is 3 in 1 Tote Bag by "Bag2" by Lois. It is a simple concept that has a jacket that the main body of the purse sets in with buttons. Thats one look, the next look is to turn the jacket inside out and re-button, and the third look is without the jactet. With the jacket, there is lots of room with outside pockets, and on the inside thhere is an additional pocket made and a big roomy bucket compartment that zips up.

Super easy to sew, and so far loved by all!
