Binding Time

As you all know, I have been finishing up my UFO's and sending them off to be quilted.  I managed to get about 11 of the bound and photographed, that you have been able to see in the past several posts.  But, I am now about 8 quilts behind that have come back from the quilter.  these 4 quilts have the binding sewn on them and are ready for hand stitching.

These four quilts need binding made and sewn on them.

I am hoping to get the binding on these sometime next week.

But, they will remain in one large pile, because I want to have some hand sewing to do when I get surgery on my knee.  I am scheduled for surgery on December 2nd, and I know I'll have to sit quite a bit if not solely, so I want to have them ready for finishing.

Then again, December is a long way off, and I may find some time to get them done before then, as I want to get theses UfO's done and a few more that are being sent to the quilter next week.  So if I get these done and the newer ones,  I will have to find some embroidery work or a crochet project.

Oh well, it will all work out in the end.

Post Christmas Pictures

Please note there are a lot of pictures.  I can finally post the pictures of all that I made for people this year.  If you remember, I did lots of pillow cases to use as wrapping paper.  The pillow cases matched the blankets I made.

These are for the three children that are a part of our family:

Here are the matching blankets

The pink and blue blankets were made with "Frozen" flannel and backed with matching fleece.  The black blanket is fleece on both sides, and it's matching pillowcase is an Army print, because his dad is in the Army, and it had the colors of the black fleece print.  I heard back that the kiddos went home and put them on their beds and asked to use them to have a "camp out" in the living room.

The quilts that I gave my sons were received with awe and wonder too!  They both said they love each quilt that was specific to what they enjoy, and that it meant a lot to have something that will last and can remember for years and years.  They have all put them on their beds and are just delighted!

So nice to hear they not only liked them, but are wanting to use them all the time.  I couldn't have been more happy this year!

Vegas Baby

I am a tag along with DH in Las Vegas attending a conference for his business.

So, the only thing I am accomplishing while away, is some embroidery work. I am playing catch up on a quilt-along from 2011 called "Little Birdie Stitches". These blocks come from the web site of Little Miss Shabby.

I have done my blocks exactly like she did hers, just because I fell in love with the "Sunkissed" line from Moda. As of today LMS still had all the blocks up and available on her blog, if you are interested! You can find her site at www.littlemissshabby.com.

In fact I have at least three projects (large quilts) using this line. I have them on my 2012 agenda to get them done, as I want to decorate my guest bedroom with this color pallett.
